DANCE COMPETITIONS - CLASS REQUIREMENTS

Dance Competition and Class Requirements

Participation in competitive groups is subject to the enrollment and attendance at specific classes. Please see below the required class(es) that the student will need to attend in order to participate in a Competitive Group(s). Please note that to participate in a Jazz or Tap group, the student must also attend a ballet class.

Competitive Solos, Duos, and Trios

Groups are the priority for all students and participation in trios, duos, and solos is subject to participation in ALL the suggested groups for the same discipline first. For an example, where suggested two ballet groups, students must participate in the two ballet groups before enrolling for a solo.

Competitive Ballet Groups

Primary and Pre-Junior: Participation in these groups are subject to attendance in a Ballet examination class (Ballet Pre-Primary, Ballet Primary, Ballet Grades 1 and up).

Junior: Participation in these groups are subject to attendance in a Ballet Examination class (Ballet Grades 1 and up) and the Pre-Professional ballet class (Ballet Junior Free).

Open: Participation in these groups are subject to attendance in a Ballet Examination (when suggested) and the suggested Pre-Professional ballet class(es) (Ballet Inter/Senior Free, Pointe, etc...)

Competitive Jazz Groups

Primary: Participation in these groups are subject to attendance in a Jazz examination class (Jazz Preliminary, Jazz Junior 1, Jazz Grades 1 and up) and any ballet examination or pre-professional ballet class.

Junior: Participation in these groups are subject to attendance in a Jazz examination class (Jazz Junior 1, Jazz Grades 1 and up) and any ballet examination or pre-professional ballet class.

Open: Participation in these groups are subject to attendance in a Jazz examination class (Jazz Grades 1 and up) and any ballet examination or pre-professional class.

Competitive Tap Groups

Primary: Participation in these groups are subject to attendance in a Tap examination class (Tap Preliminary, Tap Junior 1, Tap Grades 1 and up) and any ballet examination class or pre-professional class.

Junior: Participation in these groups are subject to attendance in a Tap examination class (Tap Junior 1, Tap Grades 1 and up) and any ballet examination or pre-professional class.

Open: Participation in these groups are subject to attendance in a Tap examination class (Tap Grades 1 and up) and any ballet examination or pre-professional class.

Competitive Contemporary Group

Open: Participation in these groups are subject to attendance in a Contemporary class and any ballet examination or pre-professional class.
