A.R.A.D. Royal Academy of Dance Ballet Coordinator
Monica began her training at Ballet Raça e Magia in São Paulo, Brazil. She continued her studies in Studio Dança Rumo and Ballet Ilara Lopes where she completed her Royal Academy of Dance Examinations to Advanced 2. She danced at a variety of national and international competitions, performing classical, neo-classical, repertoire and jazz works. Monica was a soloist of Grupo de Dança Raça e Magia, Cia Dança Rumo, Cia Estavel Promodança and the principal dancer at Grupo Uirapuru. She held the position of Head of Dance at Instituto Divina Pastora and Ballet Co-ordinator at Ballet Carla Perotti. In her flourishing Canadian career, Monica has been the primary choreographer for Do It With Class productions for the past 4 years. Monica has been teaching for 20 years and since 2006 she has taught at Class Act Performing Arts Studios where she is preparing a new generation of dancers for the rigors of the performance lifestyle.
A.R.A.D. Royal Academy of Dance Pre-School Dance Coordinator
Eduardo started his dance studies at the age of 18 (Yep! It’s never too late to start!) with Eliana Furno Machado where he studied for 4 years before moving to São Paulo. Under the instruction of the Royal Academy of Dance Examiner Ilara Lopes, he completed his ballet examination with Distinction up to Advanced 2. Eduardo danced at a variety of national and international competitions, performing classical, neo-classical and repertoire works. Eduardo was a member and principal dancer of Grupo Uirapuru, Cia Estavel Promodança, Ballet Lucia Millas, Corpo de Baile Jovem da Escola Municipal de Bailados, as well as guest dancer in several Studios. Since 2006, Eduardo has taught at Class Act Performing Arts Studios, preparing students for examinations and competitions.
RAD R.T.S., Member CDTA Sask. Branch-Stage, B.Ed. Jazz & Tap Coordinator
Randi-Lee began dancing at the age of four and received her training at Jacquie’s Dance Academy under the instruction of Jacquie Huck. She has studied many disciplines of dance including Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Tap, Musical Theatre, Lyrical, Hip Hop, and Modern Dance. She holds her Ballet Grade 8 Award under the Royal Academy of Dance, as well as her Advanced Tap and Jazz under the Canadian Dance Teacher Association (C.D.T.A.). Randi-Lee has 10 years experience preparing students for examinations and competitions, as well as is a festival adjudicator. She holds her Bachelor of Arts Education majoring in Literature with a minor in Dance. She is a full member of the Canadian Dance Teachers Association and is accredited as a registered teacher with the Royal Academy of Dance. This previous summer Randi-Lee began her training under the ADAPT-Associated Dance Arts for Professional Teachers syllabus.
Pre Professional Jazz Instructor
Chrissy began dancing at the age of three and received her training in Ballet, Pointe, Lyrical, Jazz, Tap, Musical Theatre and Hip Hop at Myers Dance Centre here in Regina as a member of the Salsations Dance Company. She achieved her Advanced C.D.T.A in Tap and Jazz both with Honours, her Grade 8 Award R.A.D. with Distinction as well as the Intermediate II standing with Royal Academy of Dancing. Chrissy performed and toured with Saskatchewan Express where she was also a Rehearsal Director and Choreographer for many seasons. For the past ten years she has been dancing professionally with Disney and Royal Caribbean International, where she travelled the world onboard their cruise ships as Dance Captain, Performer and Aerialist. In the meantime she trained and developed a love for other styles of dance including the Argentine Tango, Swing and the Aerial Arts of Silks, Halo Harness and Handloop. Chrissy and her husband Armando, a dancer from Italy, are excited to be back in Regina and to share their experience and passion for dance with teachers and students in Saskatchewan.
Pre Combo Jazz & Tap Instructor
Erin came to Class Act Performing Arts Studios in November 2009 to assist Randi-Lee Ullyott and substitute with the Jazz & Tap CDTA Program. She will be teaching Jazz and Tap CDTA exam classes this year as well as team teaching with Randi-Lee. Erin began dancing as a young girl at Ritenburg Dance Studio where she pursued jazz, tap, and ballet. Upon the Studio closure, she followed Randi-Lee Ullyott to Steppin' On Up where she studied the disciplines of Jazz, Tap, Ballet and Pointe, Lyrical, and Hip Hop and assisted in RAD & CDTA examination classes. Erin also spent time at Dance City where she pursued ballet and she has attended various competitions and dance workshops throughout her dancing years. Erin is currently in her third year of a Bachelor's Administration Degree at the University of Regina, Majoring in Accounting and is looking forward to another great dance season at Class Act.
Pre Professional Contemporary Instructor
Armando started his dance studies in his home city, Siracusa, Italy, studying under Neva Dimova, former first dancer for The Opera Theatre in Sofia, Bulgary. After winning a scholarship to the prestigious A.I.D. (Italian Dance Association) he moved to Rome to continue his studies in the disciplines of Vagonova Ballet, Pas de Deux, Louis Falco Modern, Alvin Ailey Modern and Horton Modern. He proceeded to work with the OFF JAZZ Company in Nice, France, studying Matt Maddox Jazz, Limon Modern, Tap and choreography training. Following France, Armando worked and completed his studies in classical ballet, pas de deux, repertoire and character work, receiving his ballet diploma with The Company Classical Ballet Association of Reggio Emilia under the direction of Liliana Cose and Marinel Stefanescu. Armando has worked for many companies and theatres in Italy including: National Ballet Company, New Euroballet Company, Renato Greco Dance Company, Mvula Sungani Italian Dance Theatre, Ballet of Naples, Rome Opera Theatre, Greek Theatre of Siracusa, In Scena Opera Company, and Spazio Dance Company: as well as teaching and choreographing around Sicily and Italy. In the last five years he has performed for Royal Caribbean International, having the opportunity to travel the world learning other cultures and styles of dance. This is where he met his wife, Chrissy, a dancer from Regina. Armando and Chrissy have recently retired from the professional life and are now ready to settle down here in Regina where he is excited to share his experience and passion for dance.
Ballet Examination Assistant
Jane began dancing at the age of three at Myers Dance Centre. Shortly after, she trained at The Conservatory of Music and Dance and at Class Act Performing Arts Studios. During her years at Class Act, Jane completed the Advanced 1 Royal Academy of Dance examinations. She also completed her Intermediate Canadian Dance Teacher's Association examinations in both Jazz and Tap with honours. Jane has attended various competitions and dance workshops throughout the years, as well as performed with the Regina Symphony Orchestra, The Labour Day Classic Half Time Show, and Incredible Story Studio. Jane has been assisting and substituting dance classes for the past six years at Class Act Performing Arts Studios. Through this, Jane has developed a strong passion for teaching. Jane is currently a student at the University of Regina working toward her Bachelor of Education, Majoring in Elementary Education, as well as her Bachelor of Arts, Majoring in Mathematics. |
