About This Class
Challenge Contemporary PreTeen introduces dancers to contemporary movement through expressive technique, musical interpretation, and creative exploration. Classes focus on building fluidity, control, and emotional connection to movement within the Challenge program.
From August to December, training emphasizes contemporary foundations, technique, and movement quality. From January to June, dancers develop choreography for recital and competitions with a focus on expression and artistry.

Meet Your Instructor

Maria Rigetti
Contemporary Instructor
Maria Rigetti grew up in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan where she trained at Doris Sitter School of Dance. She completed all her CDTA tap and jazz exams as well as her RAD ballet exams.
After graduating, Maria moved to Vancouver as she was accepted into Harbour Dance Centre’s Intensive Training Program. After completing the ITP program under the direction of Moe Brody, Maria moved back home to Saskatchewan. Here, she continues to pursue a dance career as both student and teacher.
She is currently working towards her CDTA Licentiate certification and is a member of the 2022 Rider Cheer Team. Furthermore, Maria is a full-time Dean’s List student at the University of Regina in the Faculty of Business Administration.
